What is the EDGE Grant?
EDGE is Enterprise Singapore's new consolidated grant. Instead of working out whether your project fits under EDG, PSG or MRA, you choose from a set of business areas and apply once.
Whether you want to digitalise operations, sharpen business strategy, expand overseas or make the business more sustainable, it now falls under one roof.
- Automation & Digitalisation
- Business Strategy
- Financial Management
- Innovation
- Internationalisation (overseas expansion)
- Standards Adoption
- Sustainability
- A talent/manpower-related area has also been indicated, with fuller details expected as the scheme rolls out
How much funding can my SME get?
Support levels depend on the specific activity, but the headline numbers are straightforward.
- Up to 70% of eligible project costs for SMEs (up to 50% for larger, non-SME companies)
- Up to S$100,000 in total grant support per company per year, shared across all activities
- The yearly cap resets every 1 April
- Funding is reimbursement-based — you pay first, then claim the supported portion after the project is completed and paid in full
Who is eligible?
Enterprise Singapore is still finalising the full EDGE eligibility page. Based on the outgoing EDG, PSG and MRA schemes, applicants can generally expect to need:
- A business entity registered and operating in Singapore
- At least 30% local shareholding (Singaporean and/or PR-held)
- Financial readiness to start and complete the project
- A project that has not yet started — no payments made, no contracts signed, no work begun before the application
What's changing from the old grants?
Until 29 September 2026, EDG, PSG and MRA remain three separate schemes and you have to pick the right one first. From 30 September 2026 there is one scheme, EDGE, where you pick the business area and apply once. EDGE is open to both SMEs and non-SMEs, and the funding cap is a single S$100,000 per year across all activities rather than varying by scheme.
If you already have an EDG, PSG or MRA project underway or submitted before 29 September, it will still be processed and you can claim as usual once it is done.
Why this matters for your business now
Because the switchover is close, SMEs currently planning a project should decide quickly whether to submit under the current EDG/PSG/MRA framework before 29 September 2026, or wait and apply fresh under EDGE from 30 September.
Either way, the earlier you start preparing your project proposal and documents, the smoother the process will be. Bluehive Consulting helps Singapore SMEs navigate grant applications — including EDG, PSG, MRA and now EDGE.
What this looks like for a real SME
One application instead of three
An SME planning both a digital operations upgrade and an overseas market push previously needed separate PSG and MRA routes. Under EDGE, both sit inside one application, drawing on one annual cap.
Timing the switchover
A business with a fully scoped project and documents ready can still submit under the existing framework. A business still shaping its project is usually better off preparing properly and applying under EDGE.
Key takeaways
- EDGE replaces EDG, PSG and MRA from 30 September 2026.
- You choose a business area, not a scheme, and apply once.
- Up to 70% support for SMEs, capped at S$100,000 per company per year.
- The annual cap resets every 1 April and funding is reimbursement-based.
- Never start the project or pay a vendor before approval.
Frequently asked questions
When does the EDGE Grant start?
EDGE takes effect from 30 September 2026. EDG, PSG and MRA applications can still be made up to 29 September 2026.
What happens to my existing EDG, PSG or MRA application?
Applications submitted or projects underway before 29 September 2026 will still be processed, and you can claim as usual once the project is completed.
How much can my company claim per year under EDGE?
Up to S$100,000 in total grant support per company per year, shared across all supported activities. The cap resets every 1 April.
Is EDGE only for SMEs?
No. Unlike the mainly SME-focused predecessor schemes, EDGE is open to SMEs and non-SMEs, though support levels are higher for SMEs (up to 70% versus up to 50%).
Can I start the project while waiting for approval?
No. Making payments, signing contracts or beginning work before approval generally disqualifies the project.
